Sponsor & Referral

OhShii has an optional referral system. If you invite people who later participate, you can claim a share of a capped referral pool — but only if the campaign succeeds, and you claim it from that campaign’s own DAO, not from OhShii. Using a sponsor code is always optional — you can participate without one.

Three things define how sponsor rewards work:

• It’s a capped pool, not an open-ended fee. Across all sponsors, an LGE pays out at most 5% of the curve (≈25 ICP) — the referral band. No amount of sponsor activity can raise that ceiling. Whatever isn’t earned by qualifying sponsors settles to the OhShii treasury on success, or is refunded to contributors on failure.
• Paid only on success. Rewards are held per campaign and paid only if the LGE completes successfully. If the LGE fails or is refunded, sponsors are paid nothing and the held band goes back to contributors.
• Claimed from the campaign’s own DAO, not from OhShii. On a successful LGE the earned share is transferred to the campaign’s own autonomous governance canister, where the sponsor claims it. OhShii is not the payer.

For participants — using a sponsor code

• When you contribute to an LGE you can enter a sponsor code (once set for you, it can’t be changed).
• It costs you nothing extra — the sponsor’s share comes out of the platform’s portion of your contribution, not on top of it.
• A sponsor code is entirely optional — you can participate without one. If no sponsor code is set, the referral share simply settles to the OhShii treasury when the LGE succeeds (or is refunded to you if the LGE fails).

For sponsors — earning a reward

Anyone can become a sponsor by purchasing a sponsor code for 3 ICP (one-time, non-refundable). Your reward is a slice of the referral band (up to 5% of each referred contribution) and scales with your Voting Power:

You must be an active voter

Earning any reward also requires you to be an active ONS voter — you must have voted on at least 2 of the last 3 OHSHII governance proposals. A sponsor who has the Voting Power for a tier but has stopped voting earns 0% until they vote again.

When you actually get paid (deferred claim)

Sponsor rewards are not paid at the moment of purchase — they’re held per campaign until the LGE’s outcome is known:

• If the LGE succeeds: your earned share is transferred to that campaign’s own DAO governance canister and registered there, and you claim it from the DAO within 7 days of completion — not from OhShii. Any unearned part of the band (e.g. no qualifying sponsor) settles to the OhShii treasury.
• If the LGE fails: the held referral band is refunded to the contributors (it forms part of their ~95% refund — see Refunds), so nothing is paid to sponsors.

Anti-Sybil: invited users must be verified

To prevent abuse, a referral only counts when the invited participant is identity-verified (World ID or DecideID). If the buyer isn’t verified, no sponsor connection is recorded and the share is 0% for that contribution. (Verification is the same one used across OhShii — see Voting.)
